This page details the full attire for each of Hoang's groomsmen.

How much will it cost?

We are aiming for a total cost of less than $300 for each groomsman, including tuxedo jacket, tuxedo pants, shirt, shoes, and accessories.

Where to buy?

We don't know the exact specifics yet. We will be tuxedo shopping on Saturday, May 12th. You can either meet at Hoang's place at 10:30 am or at the first store we visit. More details to follow.

Current status

Hoang Nguyen - Tuxedo jacket, pants, vest, and shirt ordered (expecting to receive by June 1st). Still needs alterations. Still needs bow tie, button studs, cufflinks, and suspenders.

Giovanni Denina - Still needs tuxedo. Waiting for confirmation of details from all groomsmen in order to get matching outfit.

Son Nguyen - Still needs tuxedo. Pending shopping trip on May 12th.

Eric Nguyen - Still needs tuxedo. Pending shopping trip on May 12th.

The Jacket

Requirements for groomsmen

  • Fabric/Color
    Black
  • Jacket Style
    Single-breasted and single-button (no two-button)
  • Lapel Style
    Peaked lapel or shawl lapel (but no notched lapel)
  • Lapel Facing
    Black Satin or Black Grosgrain
  • Lapel Buttonhole
    Working buttonhole on left lapel
  • Pockets
    Two non-slanted besom/jetted pockets (flaps allowed only if they can be tucked in)
  • Vents
    Either side vents or no vents, but no center vents

The Pants

Requirements for groomsmen

  • Fabric/Color
    Same as Jacket (Black)
  • Vertical Stripe
    Same as Lapel Facing (Black Satin or Black Grosgrain)
  • Pleats
    No pleats
  • Trouser Bottom
    No cuffs

The Cummerbund

Requirements for groomsmen

  • Fabric/Color
    Same as Lapel Facing (Black Satin or Black Grosgrain)

The Shirt

Requirements for groomsmen

  • Collar
    Wing collar preferred, otherwise spread collar (no deep pointed collars)
  • Cuffs
    French cuffs preferred with holes for cufflinks, otherwise barrel cuffs (but only for 1 button)
  • Buttons
    Holes for button studs preferred, otherwise white buttons (mother of pearl preferred)
  • Bib/Pleats
    None necessary

    Self-tied (no pre-tied bows or clip-ons)

    Same as Lapel Facing (Black Satin or Black Grosgrain)

The Shoes

Requirements for groomsmen

  • Material/Color
    Black patent leather preferred, otherwise matte black
  • Style
    Balmoral oxfords preferred, otherwise bluchers/derbys
  • Toe Box
    Plain rounded toe box preferred; cap toes allowed, but no square toe boxes please
